SHORT HISTORY

The Faculty of Medical Bioengineering officially opened its courses in1994, the evolution of the faculty under the sign of a perfect academic spirit, which constantly increases its attractiveness among students, its popularity in the education system and its prestige in the national and international academic hierarchy.

The institution has the mission to carry out an education and an advanced research in the field of bioengineering, of balneophysiokinetotherapy and in medical rehabilitation, through educational and research programs designed in accordance with the aims and policy of Romania, with the mission and objectives of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Grigore T . Popa ”, to ensure competitiveness in the European Higher Education and Research Area.


ABOUT THE FACULTY OF MEDICAL BIOENGINEERING

The Faculty of Medical Bioengineeringof the“Grigore T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iaşi is a state higher education institution, accredited and certified by ARACIS / IEP-EUA and prepares specialists in two areas of license:

  • Field of Applied Sciences with the specialization of Bioengineering ;

  • Health field with specialization Balneophysiotherapy and recovery .

The Faculty of Medical Bioengineering has as main objective the training of specialists with solid knowledge and skills in the biomedical field, according to the definition of BECON (Bioengineering Consortium): The application of concepts and methods of engineering, biology, medicine, physiology, physics, materials science, chemistry, mathematics and computer science to develop methods and technologies to solve human health problems.


Bioengineering creates fundamental concepts and knowledge from the molecular to the systemic level and develops new biological products, materials, processes, implants and computer products for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases, for the rehabilitation of the patient and for the increase of the health degree. Our faculty contributes to the growth of the quality standard in the health system in Romania. To achieve this objective, the Faculty of Medical Bioengineering is continuously pursuing:

  • promoting quality and efficiency in the educational process;

  • harmonious modeling of the personality and development of students' creative skills;

  • continuous development of scientific research, at the level of international standards and affirmation of the scientific performances of the members of the academic community;

  • integration into national and international university networks based on performance and complementarity criteria

  • developing partnerships with the business environment, local or national public institutions, with international institutions and organizations.

METHODOLOGY FOR UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION COMPETITION AT GRIGORE T. POPA UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY OF IASI, 2024/2025

3. Admission Process Description

3.1 General Conditions

  • Open to graduates of pre-university high school studies.

  • Eligible candidates include EU and non-EU citizens for programs in Romanian, English, or French.

3.2 Documents Required for Applying

  • Mandatory submission of various documents including proof of citizenship, academic transcripts, birth certificate, and language proficiency certificate.

3.3 Application Process

  • Access the platform, upload required documents within the specified timeframe.

  • Weekly analysis of submitted files and publication of eligible candidates.

3.4 Admission Method

  • Online registration, file completeness check, and scientific validation.

  • Ranking based on the evaluation grid, weekly analysis, and publication of eligible candidates.

3.5 Display of Results and Completion

  • Provisional lists posted in descending order of score.

  • Candidates declared eligible complete admission by providing additional documents.

  • Final admission list published after candidates pay the tuition fee difference.

4. Obtaining Acceptance Documents

  • ME receives potential candidate list and files for issuing Letter of Acceptance.

  • Authentication requirements vary by country.

5. Students' Enrollment

  • Enroll within 15 days of the academic year or later with approval.

  • Obtain a study visa for non-EU citizens.

  • Submit required original documents, including the baccalaureate diploma, transcripts, and proof of tuition fee payment.
