Medicine(MD) Program Structure:

The Medicine program spans 6 years, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical clinical experience.

Years 1–2: Pre-Clinical Studies

• Focus on foundational sciences such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, and Medical Biology.

Years 3–4: Clinical Studies

• Introduction to clinical subjects including Internal Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Years 5–6: Advanced Clinical Practice

• In-depth clinical rotations across various medical specialties, preparing students for independent practice.

Final State Examinations

• Upon completion of the program, students undertake state examinations to qualify as medical practitioners.

Documents Required for Applying

Candidates are required to submit the following documents:

• Completed application form including brief biographical data, educational history and any courses for which the candidate is applying

• Copy of a diploma confirming completion of secondary education, with an academic transcript stating the disciplines studied

• Document issued by relevant authorities which certifies the right to continue education in higher schools and universities in the country of origin of the secondary school attended by the candidate

• Health certificate issued no more than one month prior to application and verified in the country from which the candidate is applying

• Two 4-5cm photographs

• The diploma, academic transcript and health certificate must be translated into Bulgarian and legalised as per official state directives.

For admission to MU Sofia, students must meet the following requirements:

• Pass the national medical admission test in Biology and Chemistry.

• High school Diploma with Completion of Scientific subjects.
