Medical Programmes at Tbilisi State Medical University

Medical Doctor (MD) Program: A 6-year undergraduate program designed to train qualified physicians ready for postgraduate education and specialized training.

Program Structure:

Basic Sciences Stage (Years 1-2)

During the first two years, students build a solid foundation in the natural and biomedical sciences. Subjects such as anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry are complemented by introductory courses in clinical skills and medical ethics. Preclinical Stage (Years 3-4)

Clinical Rotations(Years 5-6)

  • Clinical rotations are conducted in TSMU-affiliated hospitals, providing real-world experience under professional supervision.

American MD Undergraduate Program: Also a 6-year program, developed in collaboration with Emory University School of Medicine (USA). This program integrates basic medical, preclinical, and clinical disciplines, preparing students to pass the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) during their studies.

Program Structure:

  1. Premedical Stage (Years 1-2):

    • Provides fundamental education in sciences such as Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.

    • Includes humanities courses like Anthropology, Art History, History of Civilizations, World Literature, and Psychology.

  2. Medical Stage (Years 3-6):

    • Phase 1: Foundations of Medicine

For admission to Tbilisi state University students must meet the following requirements:

  • English proficiency( record of certification if English Language is not the first Language of resident nation).

  • High school qualifications, including Biology/Chemistry.

  2. Educational Certificates:

    • High School Certificate: An original document certifying the completion of general secondary education abroad. This should confirm that you have completed your general education abroad during the last two years.

  3. Language Proficiency Certificate: An internationally recognized certificate demonstrating a minimum B1 level proficiency in the language of the chosen program.

For applicants under 18 years old:

  • Birth Certificate: Translated and notarized copy.

  • Parents' (Guardians') Passports: Copies of parents' or guardians' passports.

For transfer students:
