The Faculty of Medicine of Iasi refers to the general context of the Romanian and European medical education by going through several stages of change made with responsibility and justification towards the members of the academic community, students and teachers, but also to those who expect that from the amphitheatres of the faculty ours to start, on a reckless road, generations of doctors able to respond to their own expectations and to those of the whole society.The curricular reform, carried out during the last 8 years, responds to the current needs of medical education in order to achieve the desires of efficiency, competitiveness, transparency. The increase of the quality of the didactic performance and the recognition of the level of training of the students by an elite professional body have led to international recognition, including through the quality certificate granted by CIDMEF.The Faculty of Medicine has expanded its degree programs, all of which are nationally accredited by ARACIS, as follows: Medicine - programs in Romanian, French, English; General Medical Assistance; Nutrition and Dietetics. To these are added Master's programs, following a flexibility focused on the addressability of potential candidates, depending on the demands, permanently changing, on the labor market in Romania and abroad. Academic diversity through multiculturalism has started from the development of the recruitment strategy of students from other countries and has expanded by promoting and supporting logistical and financial Erasmus incoming / outgoing mobility.The research activity carried out within the Faculty of Medicine, by its teachers, doctoral and post-doctoral students, has contributed to the greatest extent to maintaining in the first places in the national rankings.The Faculty of Medicine is permanently an important component of the University regarding the observance of the principles of academic freedom, performance and transparency, both in the training of students and in the professional and scientific affirmation of the teaching staff, respecting the tradition, performance and value of our University.

SHORT HISTORY

The Faculty of Medicine of Iasi, one of the oldest and famous for its considerable contribution to the development and progress of the medical sciences, was established on September 30, 1879, when the then Parliament of the Kingdom of Romania voted the budget and the didactic program of the new institution.

The inaugural course of anatomy was held by Dr. Leon Scully on December 1 of the same year, the rest of the studied disciplines being taught within the Faculty of Science of the University.

Every year over 800 students are enrolled in the courses of the Faculty of Medicine of Iasi.

Their instruction is carried out by teachers from the fundamental and clinical disciplines, who ensure in optimal conditions a thorough training for future doctors; this is prolonged even after completing medical studies, through numerous forms of continuous medical education.

The faculty prepares residents in all medical specialties, doctoral students in 36 specialties and provides the methodological guidance and updating the knowledge of the specialist doctors from all the counties of Moldova. Parallel to the educational, university and post-university activity, the faculty groups are involved in numerous studies and researches as well as in ensuring a higher level of medical care in more than ten university hospitals.

3.5 Display of Results and Completion

  • Provisional lists posted in descending order of score.

  • Candidates declared eligible complete admission by providing additional documents.

  • Final admission list published after candidates pay the tuition fee difference.

4. Obtaining Acceptance Documents

  • ME receives potential candidate list and files for issuing Letter of Acceptance.

5. Students' Enrollment
